Ajman Transport Signs MoU to Advance Smart Aerial Mobility

Ajman Transport Authority has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Skyports Infrastructure, a global leader in the development of infrastructure for vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) sites, to explore and strengthen cooperation in the field of smart aerial mobility, including flying taxi services.

The MoU was signed by H.E. Omar Mohammed Lootah, Director General of Ajman Transport Authority, and Daniel O'Neill, Managing Director of Skyports Middle East. This strategic step aims to enhance the transportation ecosystem in the emirate by adopting smart and integrated mobility solutions that meet future needs and align with community aspirations.

The agreement outlines collaboration in research and studies related to the development of aerial transport infrastructure, identifying suitable locations for support facilities, enhancing technical and operational readiness, and exploring the use of drones in key sectors.

This initiative reflects Ajman Transport Authority's commitment to keeping pace with technological advancements in the transport sector and preparing the emirate to adopt smart, sustainable mobility models that support its long-term vision.

H.E. Omar Mohammed Lootah emphasized that the signing of the MoU is part of the Authority’s efforts to adopt forward-looking transport solutions that support the transition to a smart city. He highlighted the importance of collaborating with global experts to develop an advanced, safe, and sustainable transport network in Ajman.

Daniel O'Neill, Managing Director of Skyports Middle East, stated that the agreement represents an opportunity to strengthen collaboration with Ajman Transport Authority and explore the development of infrastructure for urban aerial mobility in line with international best practices.
